Yinqi Chen will begin her PhD in Social Work and Social Welfare at the University of Michigan in Fall 2025. Her research focuses on the intersection of child maltreatment and intimate partner violence (IPV), with particular attention to how early exposure to these experiences shapes children’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental outcomes across the life course. Building on her MSW training and experience conducting research in the Child Maltreatment Prevention Lab, Yinqi aims to identify risk and protective factors that inform equitable, evidence-based interventions to support children and families impacted by violence.

Yunzi has been accepted into the PhD program in Social Work at The Ohio State University, beginning in Fall 2025. Her research interests focus on studying and developing parenting programs for immigrant families, particularly those with young children experiencing behavioral challenges or developmental disabilities. Yunzi is excited to bring her clinical experience and the knowledge she gained at the Child Maltreatment Prevention Lab into the next chapter of her professional journey.
