Dr. Kathryn Maguire-Jack

Lab Director

Dr. Kathryn Maguire-Jack is the Director of the Child Maltreatment Prevention Lab and Associate Professor at University of Michigan School of Social Work.  She is an expert in child maltreatment prevention and examines macro-level predictors of maltreatment including social welfare policies and neighborhood factors.  She is particularly interested in the ways in which policies and communities can be harnessed to support parents and help children thrive.  She has expertise in program evaluation and advanced statistical methods.  She has received over $14 million in external research grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and Triple P America.  She has a Master of Public Affairs, Master of Social Work, and PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin.
